Uniworld, a TreadRight Founding Partner, is the only cruise company participating in Path2Zero, a five-year research project led by Delft University of Technology, aimed at leading the transition of the European inland shipping industry towards net zero.
In 2023 an EU funded project called Path2Zero commenced, also supported by TreadRight. This project is a collaboration of organizations across the inland shipping industry, led by Technical University Delft, and is aimed at devising the most suitable path for the industry to reach net zero by 2025. Uniworld is the only cruise company participating in the 5-year project, committing their own captains, engineers, and technical experts will participate in the project’s various living labs and workshops.
The research programme should provide insight into what the transition to zero-emission requires from the various partners in the inland shipping chain, such as skippers, shippers and funding institutions.
